The Price Legacy - Scrapped Screenshots
I have a lot of screenshots that haven't made it in my updates so far. Either because they eventually fell out of the story as I fleshed out the characters, or I just couldn't get them to work for the chapters for one reason or another. I'm deleting them, but I wanted to upload a few personal faves.
I love how sims autonomously take out their cell phones to text or take selfies...which is exactly what Don did when I was setting up their first meeting. This was sickeningly in-character but alas, there was no reason to include in.
And ofc, they're not getting along at this point in the story yet, but she just hugged him on her own accord as I hadn't turned off autonomy yet. It's still a cute moment, though.
Marci looks too excited about tossing drinks in people's faces. (Also: I wonder what Caleb is up to in the story. Did he work on his insecurities and stop being a jealous jerk? Did he find a girl who wanted a monogamous relationship like him? Did he get eaten by a cowplant after all?)
This is from chapter four, when Joshua invites Marci over to his place. She beat him 'home' first, so what does she do? Grill fruit for them to eat! I let them chow down before getting back to the task at hand.
I can take pictures of them flirting like this all day. They're so cute.

Don: *stays as far away as possible and pretends he doesn't know her*
I... I don't know where she got a voodoo doll. This is before she won the contest. Who is she torturing? Who knows?
Poor, poor Johnny. All he wants to do is take a cute girl on a date.
And what do I do? I give him anxiety.
This was supposed to be the final image for his and Dina's first side story, but it felt a little too comedic for the tone I was aiming for.
Damn it, Dina! You ruined the shot!
ngl it looks like she's talking dirty to him in this one.
You know, I really don't understand all the people who give TS4's Don Lothario a 'makeover' and completely redo his face because they think he's ugly.And then they whitewash him because they're racist, but I digress. I think it's a significant improvement from his previous predecessors. Look at his nose! Those cheekbones! The chin dimple underneath the hair! TS2 and TS3 Don? Plain potato, no flavor, maybe a dash of salt if that. TS4 Don? Definitely baked with butter.
I mean, look at how he appears without the goatee and a different hairstyle. This boy is not ugly?
I'm sorry, idk when this became the 'Don Lothario defense' blog. This isn't the hill I wanna die on.

Don: I can't believe Marci is fucking dead!
Marci: I'm still alive, asshole!

Honestly I just might try and squeeze this into chapter seven. I like this one a lot.
Most of my screenshots are just me fiddling around and trying to find the right angle for my scene/the narration. I couldn't really use this one since Marci is just kinda staring off at nothing, but she looked cute.
Joshua getting freaked out at a horror movie in this one. lbr, he probably loves the genre as much as Marci and Louis. He just prefers movies with a better budget and higher stakes, not the cheap B movies with bad acting and bad set designs that Marci and Louis adore.
Sometimes when I install a new pose pack, I just take series of test screenshots with the couples. I'll do a bunch with Marci and Josh, then switch from Josh to Don. That way, I can figure out, "Okay, these poses work with Josh and Marci, but this doesn't really work with Marci and Don," and vice versa. These worked well with Marci...and I silently made the discovery that Marci is likely the 'bottom' in their dynamic. A power bottom, but still a bottom. Which came as a shock to me.With Don? She totally tops that bitch.
I neveeeeeeer use poses that cross the line from vanilla to...this, because I get high key embarrassed and flustered. They're not even real, but! STILL!
Of all the characters to break the fourth wall and look directly at me, Don's the biggest perpetrator, and this happens right when Beckham is being ignorant and talking shit. This face just screams "can I punch him now" at me.
It looks like they're conspiring to drag Beckham into the men's restroom to beat him up.
Johnny wasn't supposed to have a bigger role in this chapter, but here he is showing up out of the blue and sitting with Marci and Don. I couldn't figure out how to work him in, as he probably wouldn't be caught dead at this bar.
As was the case with Josh and Marci's test screenshots, I did the same with Marci and Don for chapter eight, as I had a few new pose packs. I loved this one so much. Then I was like, "Wait, where's her hair? Why does Don look so pale in this one?" and scrapped it.
So! Instead of Marci and Don going to the Spice Festival, I was planning on them heading to the Forgotten/Forbidden Grotto or whatever it's called, and they're both drunk and stupid and sneak into a closed off area for kicks. Tragically, I wanted them to sit on the ground together as they did in chapter nine, and you can't really set up poses if you can't edit the lot. So the idea was scrapped. I might revisit this idea sometime later. For now, here's the screencaps I put aside.
This was just me trying to figure out which angle worked for this pose.
istg every time Marci poses like this during certain conversation starters, she looks like goddamn Victoria from Life Is Strange. I don't like it.
Makes sense, ofc, since she and Don both have the same energy about them. The "we totally bullied you and were high key too intimidating to approach in high school" energy.
Also, this is the point where I noticed, "Wait, something's wrong with Marci's face. Why does it look like that?????"
When you catch feelings but you ain't ready to say shit about it because you're a stupid asshole.
Tragically I had to start over with chapter eleven's storytelling images, because Marci's face was so clearly...not...normal, at least for her.
lmao, I actually thought her face looked fine in these, but I hated the lighting in these pictures.
Marci and Louis were wearing different clothes and sat somewhere else for their conversation in chapter. I loved this outfit on her!
I...forgot I had to use grown-up Louis for a different update, and he just casually tried to walk through a scene. In a dorky Hawaiian shirt that I never gave him as an outfit. And he was SO SAD?Which unfortunately makes sense considering what happens to him later down the road...
This is the point from chapter twelve where Nina was pranking him. I think she was trying to do the "what's that spot?" on his shirt, but to my surprise, he PUSHED HER HAND AWAY and just smirked at her. He's usually gullible and falls for everything.
Nina looks so embarrassed.

When I heard sims pee fire after a recent update, I knew I had to use Don to test this out. I waited until he got tense due to his noncommital and active traits (he's always like "I HATE MY JOB" or "NEED MORE EXERCISE!!!" so it didn't take long) and made him pee. Sure enough, FIRE!
